(HUMAN) Form Transposed

Artists: Regina Parkinson, Beth Liebowitz, Andria LaRocco and music by PATCHTAX

This is an ongoing project that involves research and performance about the female form in contemporary art.

First Performance and Structure:

May 17th at 4pm & 8pm, May 18th at 1pm, 2014 at New Art Center in Newton, MA

(HUMAN) Form Transposed is a performance piece created as a reaction to Yves Klein's Anthropometries (1960), and has evolved into a work exploring the female form in contemporary art. Three female performers will move throughout the canvas-lined gallery as they use their bodies to apply paint and transform themselves from human form into a painting vessel. During the 60-minute long performance, the canvas will fill with layers of color from the dancers choreography, which will be reactionary to the improvisation of live music and the intervention of the audience.
